We’re Roel and Philip, father and son. We love travelling, music, cooking and long evenings around the table with good food and good company. Whether it’sa dinner at home, a party or a larger gathering, we simply enjoy cooking for others.
I’ve been working in kitchens since I was sixteen. I started out with the foundations of classic French cooking, but over the years my curiosity has taken me much further, from the warmth of Italian home cooking to the depth of Indian spices and the many ways different cultures approach food and flavour.
Much of what influences my cooking today comes from travelling with my family. From South America and Africa to India, Japan and the Mediterranean, every journey has brought new flavours, ideas and stories back to our kitchen. Along the way, chefs, friends and the people I’ve met have all left their mark on the way I cook.
At Peppi, I spend most of my days in the kitchen, developing the menu, cooking and bringing all these influences together.
